PocketSSH is built around on-device storage to help you connect to and manage remote SSH hosts from mobile devices. This page describes how data may be handled when you connect, import private keys, save profiles, or contact support.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the PocketSSH app and related product pages.

If we add features that materially change how data is handled, we will update this page.

2. Data stored locally

PocketSSH is designed to keep data on your device rather than on servers we operate.

  • Host profiles you add, such as address, port, username, and notes.
  • Your chosen authentication method and local settings related to the connection experience.
  • Theme preferences, recent usage state, and necessary local caches.
Unless otherwise stated on the product pages, we do not proactively upload these SSH profiles to servers we operate.

3. Permissions and sensitive content

To complete real SSH connections, PocketSSH may use system capabilities provided by your device.

  • When you import a private key file, the app may access the local file you explicitly choose.
  • When you start an SSH connection, your device communicates with the target host over the network.
  • These actions are not used to collect unrelated contacts, photo libraries, or location data.

4. Network connections and third parties

When you connect to a remote server with PocketSSH, traffic goes to the SSH host you specify and through infrastructure determined by your current network environment.

During that communication, the destination host, network provider, or platform may process ordinary network metadata under their own rules—for example IP address, connection timing, and transfer status.

Beyond what is necessary to provide the connection, PocketSSH does not sell your personal information for advertising, profiling, or data brokerage.

5. Information when you contact support

If you email the developer, we receive the address you send from, your message, and any other information you include.

We use that information only to respond, troubleshoot, or handle matters directly related to your request.

6. Your choices

  • You can edit or delete saved host profiles inside the app.
  • You can stop using features or delete the app to remove most local data.
  • You decide whether to store private keys, passwords, or other connection details on your device.

7. Security

We aim to keep the product simple and limit unnecessary data flows, but no on-device storage or network transmission can be guaranteed absolutely secure.

We recommend using device lock screens, platform security features, and careful handling of private keys and server credentials.

8. Children’s privacy

PocketSSH is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Updates and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy when features or legal requirements change, and we will post the latest version on this page.
